SMC5001HB, currently our top-selling product, comes highly recommended for electrical box manufacturers.
SMC5001HB is a high-performance sheet molding compound (SMC) that has proven to be our top-selling product, making it an excellent choice for electrical box manufacturers. This material offers exceptional mechanical properties, such as high impact strength and rigidity, which are essential for the durability of electrical boxes. Furthermore, SMC5001HB's resistance to moisture and chemicals ensures long-lasting performance even in harsh environments.
Its flame retardant properties, including a V2 UL94 rating, provide added safety for electrical equipment and help prevent fires from spreading. Additionally, the ease of processing and customization options available for SMC5001HB make it a cost-effective solution for manufacturers looking to produce high-quality electrical boxes in large volumes.
By choosing SMC5001HB for their electrical box applications, manufacturers can benefit from its superior performance, improved safety features, and overall cost savings compared to traditional materials like metal. This makes SMC5001HB a highly recommended choice among industry professionals.
SMC5001HB is a versatile sheet molding compound (SMC) that boasts two key advantages: low shrinkage and high tinting strength.
The low-shrinkage property of SMC5001HB allows for consistent part dimensions during the manufacturing process. This is crucial for applications where precision fits are required, such as automotive components or electrical enclosures. By minimizing dimensional changes during processing, manufacturers can produce parts that meet their specifications more accurately and efficiently.
The high tinting strength of SMC5001HB enables the material to accept a wide range of colors without compromising its mechanical properties. This feature is particularly useful for applications where aesthetics are important, such as consumer electronics or automotive interiors. Additionally, high tinting strength can help manufacturers save costs by reducing the amount of pigment required to achieve desired colors.

Coloring refers to the application of color to SMC finished products, which embellishes or adds highlights to the appearance, making it more vivid, interesting or attractive.
SMC5001HB, currently our top-selling product, comes highly recommended for electrical box manufacturers. Featuring a glass content of 22±2%, it exhibits remarkable tensile strength of ≥55Mpa and flexural strength of ≥140Mpa. Its flammability adheres to the HB standard (with an Oxygen Index of 22%). Customization options are available, such as the popular colors: RAL7035 light gray, RAL1015 light ivory.
Beyond its evident advantages of being cost-effective, delivering stable quality, and ensuring swift delivery, SMC thermosets boast several inherent qualities. Notable attributes include high mechanical strength and stiffness, the capacity to withstand high thermal loads, low weight, and excellent tensile, flexural, and impact strength combined with impressive insulation capabilities. Its commendable dielectric strength, tracking resistance, and electric arc resistance further underscore its suitability for applications in the electrical industry.
The production process of SMC involves crafting a continuous sheet using thermoset resin, typically polyester, fillers, additives, and chopped fiberglass. With a fiberglass length of about 1 inch and a content ranging from 20% to 50% in the compound, a meticulous blending of resin, filler, and additives results in a paste. This paste is thinly layered on a carrier-film, and fiberglass roving, after being cut to length, is applied onto it. Subsequent steps involve the addition of another carrier-film supported resin paste layer onto the fiberglass, culminating in the creation of a robust and versatile sheet moulding compound.

Q: Can you make the same color of our SMC product?A: Yes. We can customize as your requirement. For color, we use the lastest version of RAL color code.
Rugular color example:
RAL7035 Light Grey
RAL1015 Light Ivory
RAL 9004 Signal Black
If you have strict standard for the color, you can send a small sample piece, then we can compare and provide to you.
How can u make sure the different batches of your product have the same color Our QC dept. have spectrocolorimeter to make sure the final product of different batches product have a ΔE<2.
Q: What is the shelf life of SMC?A: Usually you can keep 5~6 months from production to use, if in the suitable storage condition. Please store it in and keep in a cool, ventilated and dry place below 25°C. Avoid fire, keep away from heat and radiation sources. Avoid water and prohibit exposure to sunlight and open storage. For foreign customers, we will use Reefer container (18C temperature). Once you open the package, please use it all during three days.
Q: How do you pack the SMC?A: We use zig-zag way to load into the pallet. Pallet size: 1.06*1.06*0.7meters, 1000kg per pallet. (±5% difference)In 20ft Reefer container, load 20000kg (20tons), 20pallets. The materials are sealed with multi-layer PP film packaging, plus aluminium-plated film to prevent the Light Source. The outer layer is packed in multi-layer cartons and fumigation-free pallets.
Q: Can we get samples?A: Yes. We can provide free sample. (within 10kg)
Q: What is the delivery time?A: Usually 7days from other to delivery.
