The Application of SMC in the Electrical Field

SMC and BMC are widely used in high and low voltage electrical fields, with their excellent electrical insulation and safety performance as their core. The material has high volume resistivity, resistance to leakage and arcing, and is not prone to creepage short circuits in humid and polluted environments. It also has low dielectric loss and is suitable for long-term stable operation of transformers and high-voltage cabinets; The entire series can achieve UL94 V0 flame retardant rating, with a heat deformation temperature exceeding 200 ℃. It does not melt or drip at high temperatures for a short period of time. The halogen-free formula has low smoke and is non-toxic, meeting the fire prevention standards for power equipment. The outdoor box can be used stably and its size is not easily warped or deformed. As a non-metallic material, it has no conductive eddy currents and does not produce sparks upon collision, making it suitable for explosion-proof distribution scenarios.

SMC is suitable for one-piece molding of large enclosures, ring main unit shells, etc.

BMC has good fluidity and can be used to produce precision inserts such as circuit breaker bases and busbar pillars, reducing the need for secondary processing in one molding process. Compared to metals, which do not require anti-corrosion coating, and compared to ordinary engineering plastics, which have stronger insulation and weather resistance, overall lightweight, controllable production costs, and significantly reduce equipment maintenance costs, it is the preferred material for insulation structural components of power distribution equipment.
